Psilocybin Sessions
This Pain Management retreat highlights psilocybin’s potential to ease chronic pain through carefully guided macrodose experiences. Guests participate in two macrodose sessions, each designed to help sustain the long-term benefits of psychedelics by building comfort, safety, and skill in navigating these powerful states. Having a comfortable and manageable macrodose experience is essential for long-term practice. Without learning how to confidently navigate these sessions, it would be difficult to engage in the kind of ongoing maintenance that contributes to lasting relief.
Recent studies suggest that psilocybin may reduce pain perception by interrupting the brain’s habitual pain-processing pathways while also easing the inflammation that contributes to chronic conditions. These anti-inflammatory effects target markers associated with nerve irritation, joint pain, and the persistent aches many live with daily. Since these effects are relatively short lived and cumulative, regular maintenance may be necessary to maximize their potential benefits.
The therapeutic value of psilocybin lies not only in its physical benefits, but also in its ability to shift perspective. By changing how pain is perceived, it can create space for new relationships with the body, transforming sensations that once felt overwhelming into experiences that can be observed with greater clarity and calm. At Eleusinia, these sessions are held in the open spaces of our gardens, where nature supports both relaxation and depth of insight while maintaining privacy and safety.
Each macrodose session lasts 4 to 6 hours and is tailored to the individual, with dosage and guidance adjusted to optimize both immediate impact and long-term benefits. After the first session, our team conducts a thorough review of each guest’s experience, including intensity, physical sensations, and emotional tone, so the second session can be carefully refined to match personal needs.
By combining macro and mini-dosing, the retreat offers a well-rounded approach that not only reduces pain and inflammation but also equips participants with sustainable practices to continue their progress. This approach is especially supportive for those seeking long-term relief and improved quality of life while living with chronic pain.

DMT Sessions
The DMT experience is profoundly psychedelic, marked by sensations and visual phenomena that often defy description. As a non-specific amplifier, DMT enhances and alters multiple dimensions of consciousness, including auditory, visual, emotional, and somatic perception. While certain themes may recur, each session is uniquely personal and often becomes a powerful reference point for ongoing pain management practice.
What makes DMT especially valuable for pain management is its strong impact on Sigma-1 receptors, which enhances its anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects. These effects directly target the inflammation and neural sensitivity that underlie many chronic pain conditions, helping to reduce discomfort and restore balance in the nervous system. DMT also works by disrupting entrenched patterns in how the brain perceives pain, opening the possibility for long-term relief and greater resilience.
Because DMT is too delicate to survive digestion, it is vaporized and inhaled rather than consumed orally. This method allows the compound to take effect within minutes. To make the process comfortable and effective, our facilitators coach each guest on how to vaporize properly, ensuring the experience is as smooth and beneficial as possible.
At Eleusinia, DMT sessions are conducted individually with two facilitators present, ensuring safety and full immersion. Each session lasts approximately 10 to 15 minutes and is free from external distractions. Despite their brevity, these sessions are often described as among the most powerful and transformative parts of the retreat, providing both immediate relief and long-term therapeutic value.
Unlike psilocybin, DMT does not build short-term tolerance. This allows it to be used more frequently during the retreat, making it an effective way to sustain sensitivity, reinforce the benefits of psilocybin sessions, and maintain progress. For those living with chronic pain, this makes DMT a practical and sustainable ally, supporting both short-term comfort and long-term healing.
- Three DMT sessions (up to 40mg vaporized)
- 2:1 Facilitator/Guest ratio
- Daytime, outdoor garden setting
Private 1-on-1 Integration Sessions
The psychedelic experience is often likened to a dream-like state. Like dreams, these experiences can be profound, insightful, and revelatory, yet they can also be confusing, contradictory, and even challenging or frightening. Integration is the process of documenting, interpreting, and deriving meaning from these experiences so that they aren’t simply forgotten, much like fleeting dreams. More importantly, integration acknowledges that these altered states are not an ultimate destination, but rather a complex part of a larger subconscious and therapeutic journey.
At Eleusinia, we take a holistic approach to integration, focusing on three key dimensions: psychological, spiritual, and somatic. Following a macrodose experience, our practitioners engage in personalized one-on-one integration sessions with each guest, guiding them through reflection and helping them document, remember and extract personal meaning from their psychedelic journey. Our practitioners also use these sessions to assist those who have had challenging experiences, helping them reflect, contemplate and develop approaches in tackling future experiences. These integration meetings can also be recorded, allowing guests to document and revisit their reflections later or to share them with their therapist back home.
For those interested in a spiritual perspective, we offer individual integration sessions with our curandera, who provides spiritual insights and draws from traditional Mexican spiritual mushroom practices. Additionally, we provide group meditation coaching that emphasizes somatic awareness and mindfulness as part of the integration process.

Psychedelic-Enhanced Meditation
Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies show notable similarities between brain activity during meditation and psychedelic states. Put simply, psychedelics can provide a glimpse of what deep meditation feels like, making the practice more accessible and rewarding even for those who have struggled with it before.
For guests living with chronic pain, meditation and breathwork take on an even greater role. Pain patients are often encouraged by medical providers to try meditation, but the level of concentration it requires can feel nearly impossible when discomfort is constant. The psychedelic experience can provide the boost needed to access these states more easily, turning meditation from a frustrating task into a practical and effective tool.
During sessions, meditation and breathwork serve as steady anchors, helping guests remain comfortable and centered while allowing the psychedelic process to unfold more smoothly. This makes the journey more balanced and meaningful. At the same time, psychedelics can transform meditation into something deeply engaging, opening the door to states of focus and awareness that may have once felt out of reach.
By practicing before and after macrodose sessions, guests learn how to reconnect with the sensations and mental states psychedelics reveal, developing skills that help manage discomfort and build resilience. This combination supports long-term benefits by giving participants practical tools to manage pain and enrich life well beyond the retreat.
Cultivation Class
Many guests managing chronic pain are interested in continuing their therapeutic practice beyond the retreat, and our in-depth mushroom cultivation course makes this possible. This hands-on class provides the knowledge and confidence to grow your own mushrooms using readily available and legal supplies, ensuring safe and sustainable access to psilocybin after you return home.
This class includes an expanded curriculum with direct, practical experience in every stage of the cultivation process. For those living with ongoing pain, this course is more than a skill. It is a way to maintain a consistent practice with psilocybin, supporting long-term relief and improving quality of life.

Physical Therapy and Bodywork
Physical therapy and bodywork are essential parts of the Pain Management Retreat, offering guests practical ways to restore connection with their bodies. These practices help improve mobility and flexibility while encouraging comfort and awareness in movement.
Psychedelic sessions can further shift the way the brain processes sensory information, often changing how we relate to the body. When paired with physical therapy and bodywork, this creates an opportunity not only to reduce discomfort but also to reestablish a more positive and balanced relationship with the body.
Managing pain is not just about lessening what hurts. It is also about reengaging with the body in a way that feels safe and rewarding, rediscovering the ability to move comfortably, and reconnecting with what it feels like to feel good in your own body.

Daily Schedule
Arrival & Orientation
Arrival day is focused on orientation and preparation. Guests arrive in the afternoon at Eleusinia’s private mountain estate, traveling by private shuttle from Mexico City. A welcome snack of tamales and champurrado sets the tone, followed by intake meetings with our medical team to ensure comfort and safety. The afternoon continues with a neuroscience-based presentation on psychedelics and a welcoming session with our curandera. This onboarding process provides both context and grounding, preparing guests for the psychedelic work that begins the very next day.
Psilocybin Macrodose
The first macrodose day begins early with orientation, breathwork, and meditation to prepare for the psilocybin session ahead. Guests then take part in a six-hour outdoor psilocybin experience, held in private garden spaces designed for both safety and immersion in nature. Often described as a “mental marathon,” the session is deeply impactful and can be physically and emotionally tiring. The remainder of the day is set aside for quiet rest and recovery, allowing guests to fully absorb the experience.
DMT Session, Massage, Integration, and Mushroom Cultivation
This day begins with an educational orientation on DMT, including practical coaching on comfortable inhalation and vaporization techniques. Guests then follow personalized schedules that include a private DMT session, integration activities to process the previous day’s experiences, a massage, and a group meditation class. The first part of the mushroom cultivation class is held before dinner.
Recovery & TRE
This day is devoted to rest and reset, giving guests a pause from psychedelic work before continuing with deeper practices the following day. Optional IV therapy, one-on-one integration sessions, and an afternoon TRE (Tension & Trauma Release) class provide gentle support for recovery and relaxation. In the evening, the second part of the mushroom cultivation workshop continues, followed by a blindfolded “Dinner in the Dark,” a sensory exploration that enhances taste and presence while offering a unique communal experience.
DMT Extraction Class & Temascal
The day begins with the first part of the DMT extraction class, introducing guests to the process of preparing DMT from natural plant sources. This is followed by a second DMT session, designed to be more personalized. Guests choose their preferred spot in the garden and are provided with their own vaporizer, giving them up to an hour to explore at their own pace. In the afternoon, the program shifts into restoration with a traditional Temascal (sweat lodge) ceremony, followed by time to unwind in our fireside indoor pool.
Second Psilocybin Macrodose
Similar in structure to the first macrodose day, the second psilocybin session serves as both a continuation and a refinement of the journey. Guests have the opportunity to adjust their dose and intentions, drawing on the insights and clarity gained from their first experience. Many find that this second session feels more vivid and rewarding as they become more comfortable navigating the psychedelic state. As before, the session takes place in private garden settings with attentive support throughout, followed by nourishing food and time to recover and reflect.
Excursions, Minidose, & Closing Ceremony
As the retreat moves toward completion, guests may choose to spend the morning on local excursions or remain onsite for a third DMT session, offered to participants in the extraction class. In the afternoon, a psilocybin minidose is paired with breathwork and meditation, providing a gentle way to integrate the week’s experiences. The day concludes with a celebratory cacao ceremony after dinner, a communal closing that marks the transition from retreat back into daily life.
Day 8 – Departure
A final breakfast is served at 8:00 AM, followed by a 9:30 AM shuttle departure back to Mexico City.
