When I first considered psilocybin for my chronic headaches, I did what most people do—I searched for retreats. And almost immediately, I was turned off.
The communal vomiting. The incense-drenched mysticism. The therapists who seemed more invested in your “aura” than your actual experience. Even worse, some retreats had red flags: stories of irresponsible behavior, blurred boundaries, or questionable guidance. And all of this at a price that could fund a semester of college.
So I didn’t go.
Instead, I figured it out on my own. I got the dosing right. The experience was not just tolerable—it was beautiful. And I was lucky. But I know not everyone has that combination of access, confidence, and safety. Some people struggle. Some people never even start.
That’s why I built Eleusinia. A retreat for people like me—and maybe like you.

What I Wanted to Avoid
Let’s be honest: eating mushrooms, purging in a circle, and chatting with self-appointed spiritual guides isn’t for everyone. It wasn’t for me. And in most retreat settings, no matter how well-meaning the staff is, they simply don’t know you well enough to offer meaningful therapeutic support beyond the trip itself.
You might leave with a temporary mood lift. But sustainable change takes more than a peak experience.
I knew I couldn’t fix all the limitations of the retreat model—but I could design the one I wish had existed when I was looking. One focused on problem-solving, not persona. One that respects the psychedelic experience without reducing it to a ritual.
The Mysticism Question
Psychedelics and mysticism will always be intertwined. That’s part of the magic. But there’s a difference between welcoming the mystical as it arises, and force-feeding someone else’s version of it.
At Eleusinia, we don’t push interpretations. Some of our facilitators lean more spiritual. Others, like me, are hyper-rational. But either way, we follow your lead. Your experience belongs to you.
What You Take Home
We’re not in the business of making people dependent on us. That’s not healing—that’s branding.
At Eleusinia, our goal is to send you home with more than a memory. Visitors leave with the tools and knowledge to continue their journey independently. That includes a comprehensive mushroom cultivation course, guidance on how to integrate psychedelics into a personal meditation or wellness practice, and real-world skills for managing their condition long-term.
We also emphasize finding support that lasts—connecting you with integration-friendly therapists in your own community, because what you do after the retreat matters just as much as what happens during it.
So what do you really take home?
Confidence. Skills. Autonomy.
The ability to continue your healing journey on your own terms.
