Facing the Dragon: Henry’s Journey with Psilocybin and DMT at Eleusinia

A Life of Success, Shadowed by Anxiety

Henry had achieved everything that defines success in the corporate world. A seasoned executive in financial services, he rose to the level of CEO, providing for his family and checking every box of conventional accomplishment. Yet under the surface, panic attacks and a hum of anxiety followed him into every boardroom. Beta blockers and professional polish masked the symptoms, but inside, Henry felt increasingly closed off and disconnected.

A First Step Into Psychedelics

Reading Michael Pollan’s How to Change Your Mind opened a door. Henry began exploring psychedelics with private guides and underground ceremonies, including a deeply moving psilocybin journey in his basement where he reconnected with his late brother. These moments brought healing, but the lingering question remained: could he truly face the deeper fears that were keeping him from feeling free?

Choosing Eleusinia

When friends invited him to Eleusinia, Henry felt called to take the leap. Unlike the solitary settings of his past experiences or the rigid Ayahuasca retreats he had attended, Eleusinia offered something different: a group dynamic, openness to nature, and a balance of science and spirit. He arrived seeking clarity, unsure of his next chapter after leaving his career, and open to what the medicine would reveal.

The First Psilocybin Macrodose: Surrender and Opening

In his first psilocybin macrodose at Eleusinia, Henry felt overwhelmed, suffocated by anxiety, until finally he surrendered. What followed was a flood of energy, laughter, movement, and presence. For the first time in years, he felt himself opening, being seen, and connecting deeply with others.

Slaying the Dragon of Judgment

It was his second psilocybin session that gave him a story worthy of myth. Henry found himself on a quest: gathering amulets and potions from fellow retreat guests, guided back to Eleusinia’s chapel where the altar reads “Leave Your Burdens Here.” There, he faced what he described as the dragon of judgment. Thousands of eyes stared at him, representing every doubt, every childhood nickname, every moment he felt unworthy. In the midst of the storm, Henry spoke his truth. In his words, he “slayed the dragon.” What remained was stillness, peace, and a renewed sense of joy.

Lessons in Light: DMT and Enoughness

DMT sessions brought their own lessons, including a powerful surrender into pure light, love, and a sense of “enoughness.” Henry came home more open, relaxed, and connected than his family had seen in years. His wife described it as having her husband back.

A Transformation Beyond Titles

Henry’s story is a reminder that even the most accomplished professionals may be carrying hidden battles, and that the healing power of psilocybin and DMT can offer transformation that boardrooms and accolades cannot.
